Rich Guthmann – President of Guthmann Construction
After graduating from college, Rich pursued a career path he was well accustomed to…..Christian Youth Camping. As an Eagle Scout, he loved the challenge of learning thru application in the environment.
After 12 years of Directing Camp Lurecrest, and having Designed and built his personal home, a natural career change led him into full time construction with a local remodeler.
In 1992, Rich acquired his General Contractor’s License and began Guthmann Construction. Exceptionally skilled in the trade, Rich has always believed the element that would make the difference in a construction business was having a Great Team of players.
“At Guthmann Construction, all of our employees are outstanding men and women of integrity, skilled in their jobs, and professional in all that they do. It is an honor to work along side each member of our team. Together, we have done some beautiful projects for folks…many of whom have become repeat clients… all have become friends.”
Tony Gray, AIA, Architect – Director of Project Development
Guthmann Construction LLC, has partnered with Tony L. Gray, AIA of Graydesign Architecture, PA. to provide Design and Project Development oversight for our work.
Tony received a B.A. in Architecture from the College of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a registered Architect in NC and SC with 30 years of experience in design and construction. He has served as President of AIA Charlotte and has remained very involved in the AIA North Carolina and the Charlotte section.
Tony may be the second face you meet of the GCLLC team. If you have a project in mind but don’t know where to start, he can take your ideas and put them into “Real Design”. Like we tell many of our callers….. “He lives in a real house!”
As Architect/Designer of your project, he continues overseeing the coordination of details, as your project moves into developing a Construction Agreement. Even when production is well underway, Tony continues to track the progress, ensuring that the finished product is receiving the very fluid coordination of our Design/Build Process.
John Craig – Project Development Manager
John Craig, our Project Development Manager, is a very significant member of the Guthmann Team. As our “Numbers Man”, John works meticulously on every part of your project: studying the scope, selections, integrative details, your budget, and time constraints to arrive at that all important $$ figure.
John, a NC State Graduate, spent several years gaining construction field experience prior moving to his current position. His excellent computer skills, systems knowledge, and his “Big Picture” understanding of the total construction process, provide John the expertise necessary to develop your project from “idea to completion” on paper…all while keeping a watchful eye on your budget.
Rick Haase – Director of Construction Operations
Growing up as a “Missionary Kid” in Africa, Rick received lots of practical “hands-on education” in all types of construction. He is the only member of our company that can actually boast of “cutting down trees, setting up saw mills, then cutting those trees into lumber planks for building homes.”
A Biology major in college, Rick, half jokingly, tells of the couple of summers he worked planting some 100,000 trees to replenish those that he would “use later as a carpenter, framing and building homes.”
Rick is a licensed General Contractor, who has received the Certified Lead Carpenter Accreditation thru NARI (National Association of Remodeling Industry).
Once a project is designed, estimate completed, and contract signed, the baton passes to Rick, our Director of Construction Operations. He is charged with overseeing and maintaining the highest standards in the field and delivering a professionally executed project.
Tammy Tran – Product Selection Manager
Consistent with our desire to offer excellent service from start to finish, we are pleased to introduce you to Tammy Tran, our “Product Selection Manager”. After repeatedly having clients tell us that their biggest surprise was “how very many choices they had to make for their project,” we decided to add another member to our team. Tammy is that “personal road map” to assist clients as they begin that daunting task of making the numerous selections and decisions associated with their project.
Our desire is to make sure every client receives the best value for his or her investment, that each decision is made in a timely and sequential manner, and to ensure a well-executed project.
Tammy’s professional background, product knowledge, and great organizational skills make her a valuable part of the GCLLC Design/Build Experience. We are confident that her assistance will greatly enhance your renovation experience with us.
